The West Adelaide Bearcats are committed to recognising and valuing female members at our club.

‘I know I play like a girl!’ is a new off-court club program that aims to support girls from the u10 to u16 age groups to grow and develop as people on and off the court. The first edition of ‘I know I play like a girl!’ will include a program of seven workshops, delivered on the first Monday of each month during 2019.

It is completely free for all girls within the age groups to attend but numbers are limited for each workshop. Participants will have to register for each workshop separately. Further sessions will be provided for u18-u23s later in the year.

The first five sessions will be delivered by Girl Power Workshops and apply principles from Positive Psychology practices to help girls focus on their strengths, rather than their weaknesses, and intentionally create experiences that result in a positive mindset and inner confidence. Each girl will receive a Girl Power pack which includes their worksheets and a couple of fun gifts. Any girls attending all five sessions will also receive a Certificate of Completion.

Other providers as part of the program will include Headspace and Pushing Performance.
